Employee Spotlight: Claudia Tajima

Meet Claudia…

Aciron is proud to introduce our new Employee Spotlight feature. Each month, we will highlight an employee from different departments of the company across the world, who will share with our readers a little bit about themselves and what it means to be a part of the Aciron team.

First up, we have Claudia Tajima, a team member of our Cambridge, MA office. Claudia is a Business Analyst with an extensive background in the non-profit educational sector. Not only is Claudia great at what she does every day in the office, but she spends her free time learning how to code and travelling the world as part of the medal-winning U.S.A. elite club Ultimate Frisbee team.

Where did you grow up?

Amherst, MA

What did you do before working for Aciron?

I graduated from Tufts with a BA in International Relations (in Latin America) and Environmental Studies. Before working with Aciron I directed several nonprofit educational programs ranging from environmental activism to ESL for refugee and immigrant high school students. Most recently, I served as a communications and development manager for a local affordable housing and homelessness prevention nonprofit.

What attracted you to the company?

The BAs (Business Analysts) who interviewed me were charming, along with the great view from the office! Also- I had taught myself to code in a few languages and wanted to transition over to the business sector, so I applied for the position thinking it would be a good fit.

How would you explain what you do in one sentence?

While serving as a liaison between clients and our technical development teams, I facilitate effective communication between key stakeholders to ensure each project meets the unique needs of our clients.

What does a typical day look like for you?

Every day is very different, interactive, and collaborative and I really appreciate that about working with Aciron. Over the course of the day, I work directly with our development team on creating our custom applications while communicating the client’s needs and goals. Often I will meet with clients directly to provide updates, facilitate brainstorming sessions and gather feedback on projects.

What’s your favorite part about Aciron?

Our hands on visual approach (white board bonanza) to brainstorming applications and solving problems. Also. I love snacks. We’ve recently added a new BA to the team who loves to bake, so this week we were treated to chocolate zucchini bread. Excited for what is next.

What do you like to do for fun?

I bike to work, enjoy hiking and being outdoors and for four years I had a local radio show. Hoping to get that started again. Tune in! I also play elite club Ultimate Frisbee with Boston women’s team. I have played in four World Championships for Team USA, and in college I won New England Player of the Year as well as All-American (yes, those are real things I swear!)

What’s your favorite thing about working in Cambridge?

Pepper Sky. Hands down.

People would be surprised if they knew:

I have so many dopplegangers. Everywhere.
